Election Day

Yesterday in Korea it was a national holiday because of the Elections over the whole country. So actually, it was supposed to be a national holiday. But a lot of schools were open and didn't have the time off. Originally, our school wasn't but then on Tuesday we were told that we wouldn't have any classes. It was a nice bonus I guess but I had to go to the school anyways and work on some reports for the students. Back to the election. The Grand National Party won very easily beating out the Uri Party and the President No Moo Hyun. He was actually impeached a few years ago and then 'unimpeached'.
For the first time, over 6,000 foreigners were given the right to vote in Korean elections. Under a new rule, foreign nationals of 19 years or older who have resided here for more than three years and have permanent residency status were granted the right to participate in local elections.

Here's a map of Korea showing the areas which had the majorities.
