This is a picture of My Dad and I. He's sporting the 70s look. Looking quite dapper there Dad. I guess the wifebeater shirts were popular then! This next one is of my grandfather.(Pake) He was born in Friesland and grew up there and lived there his whole life. He passed away about 4 years ago and now my Beppe is buried next to him in Ferwerd, near where they lived for so many years.
Growing up, we used to go to Holland every couple of years to visit all my Mom's side of the family and some of my Dad's uncles and aunts. My Pake used to rent bikes for my brother and I so we could roam around the streets of Veenwouden, which is a short distance to Ferwerd in Friesland. This picture was back around 1980 I think, about then anyways.
This is a picture of where my Beppe was buried. She was born on December 13, 1913 and passed away on June 25th.
Here's a picture of Illiana, my niece. She has such a Dutch look to her I think. She's really grown since I saw her last July and I think she's going to be really tall and play volleyball for the Dutch team some day! Here's another picture of Pake. He liked to work in the garden when he came to Canada. My Pake and Beppe came to Canada a few times. I was talking to Paul and he was saying that around the same time their family was picking up somebody at the airport and went to look at the area where Woodstock, Ontario was hit by the tornado. I think that was around the same time we picked up my Pake and Beppe from Pearson airport too!
Here's a pic of my 2 nephews Lukas and Owen.(left and right) They both look so much like my brother but I think Owen has the same grin as Fred!
Finally, here's a pic of Pake and Beppe and Fred, Crystal and I. This pic was taken for our parents wedding anniversary. I'm pretty sure this was for their 25th anniversary. On thursday Mom and Dad will celebrate another one, half of it in Holland and the other half in Canada! Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Hey Dave,
Such a cool post! It is so nice to see old pictures and especially of family members that are no longer with us.
I think it is so important that we remember all our family members present and past, especially with all the stuff that has happened to our friends the last little while.
Paul.
Hi Dave,
we'll have to comment on this one, really nice Dave!!!
Good idea to put some memories on, combined with new pics.
