Konglish

A lot of the time in Korea there are a lot of spelling mistakes such as this one above. It's called Konglish which is a mix of Korean and English. It is pretty much an own language in itself, own words and own pronunciation as well. I took this while I was walking near Seoul University on Saturday evening.
There is always a new shop or a new building being built around Seoul and this building will have a lawyers office, a small shopping plaza and some fast food places. Speaking of fast food places, I saw a McDonalds closing the other day to make way for another restaurant which will probably bring in more income than a McDonalds if you can believe that!

An interesting story today. I just finished in the bathroom of the school I teach at and as I was walking back to the class, a young girl was yelling something in Korean in the girls bathroom. At first I didn't understand what she was saying because she was yelling. Then I realized she was saying "Mom, the door won't open..Help!" So I went in and tried to open the door. About 5 seconds later her mom and another teacher showed up and there I was, trying to open the door while the kid was yelling....(just imagine the scene.) I wondered right away what they might be thinking.....then I explained that she was yelling frantically that the door was stuck. It all ended up ok as the girl, YeoSu said "Thank you teacher," and everything was ok.
