
Have you ever been in a situation where your mind is playing tricks on you? Like when you're running and you think you've been running for 5 minutes and it's only been 30 seconds...and all of a sudden you're tired....or in the sauna and you think it's been 5 minutes but only two...and suddenly you're extremely hot. Or when you're almost asleep and then you feel like somebody else is in the room. And suddenly you're wide awake. Or when you're sure you're gonna hit the ball 200 yards and you put too much into it and swing, miss and pull your shoulder muscle out. That's more of a lack of concentration but you get the picture....
Well tonight when I was running on the treadmill I was constantly reminding myself that I had to beat my previous time of 5km in 28:33 and I did it. I ran it in 27:24. My target is to get it to 25 minutes. Could be another week or two before I can do that though, or will it? Your mind...such a powerful thing.
