Sunday Nights and the number 5

After the weekend is ending, I always have this 'sick' feeling. It goes back to when I was a teenager (even though I could still be considered one). I guess when the weekend is over I just wish it wasn't. Although once I get into the work week it's ok. I guess living in Korea has given me a great sense of freedom except for the work part. Lately, it's been real tough too, 7 classes in a row, 3 for 45 minutes and 4 for 40 minutes. It doesn't add up to a long time, but there are different classes and different students, some with so much energy that I have to settle them down to learn this great language I speak, English.

This past Friday I felt really bad, because I think I caught something from one of the kids. I had a really sore throat so after work I went to the Jimjilbang. Paul went too. It's a place to relax, sleep and go in and out of rooms with different temperatures. One of the rooms had a bed of hot rocks that you can lay on and literally sweat until you're soaked! Good for a cold, temporarily. I felt much better on Saturday and was able to go back to the gym and the sauna ofcourse!

I usually have a 5 minute sauna after a 5 km run. Then I take a cold bath for about 5 minutes and a 5 minute shower. Then I dry off and get changed in about 5 minutes. Sometimes I talk on the phone on the way home for about 5 minutes. It takes me more than 5 minutes to walk home but I can walk to the Family Mart in 5. When I order lunch, sometimes some noodles or soup and rice, it takes 5 minutes or less. The breaks between classes at school are 5 minutes too. What can you do in 5 minutes on a break?

So, I've decided to take an extra minute or two starting today. Run a little longer, shower and sauna a little longer, and even take that extra minute or two at work. Life is good, why rush it!
