Whey, Lau shu Ni hao....

Well, we got to Taipei. It was a little hot there but not much of a difference to Korea. I thought it would be a lot hotter so right away we dismissed the idea of going to the beach, plus it was too far and we would have had to get up too early. Hey, we were on vacation!!
This was one of my favorite pictures during one of the walks around Taipei. I guess it's because the bike looks like it was just deserted there for a couple of years. The tree looks old too, not sure what kind it was.
To be honest, I really didn't care for the food in Taiwan. It was either really expensive (by Taiwan standards) and just mediocre tasting. Either that or very cheap. The cheap stuff tasted ok at first and then it just kinda filled you up really quickly. Very oily food. I even tried some stuff that looked like Kimchi Chigae when Paul and I lost each other. That's another story. The woman said it was spicy and I thought "Bring it on"! I had it and it was just ok. I've had spicier food at the Family Mart. Speaking of Family Marts, there was one on every corner if there wasn't a 7-11.
Back to the day Paul and I went to Longshan Temple. We walked the usual couple of km's around the streets and eventually got to the subway. We took the subway everyday, it was really convenient. It took about 10 minutes to get to the Lonshan temple stop. After we went in we just kind of went out own way, taking some pictures and stuff.

I met a guy named Jimmy Wang and he started to explain what some of the different Buddha Gods were worshipped for. There was the Health Buddha, Wisdom Buddha, Business Buddha, New Couple Buddha, Baby Buddha, Help in Heaven and Hell Buddha, Discipline Buddha and so on...The Wisdom Buddha had a glass case where students would put their exam registration papers and pray for wisdom. All you had to do was bow, say a small prayer and say your name and address. After the first couple he showed me, the healthy one, the wisdom one, he kept saying to just say my name and address! It sounded a little strange and it was starting to make me laugh a little bit. I hope the Gods took me serious though. I'll have some more pictures of the Highest Tower in the World, Taipei 101, later.

By the way, Paul and I lost each other after we left the temple, or actually he lost me, but we ended up meeting back at the hotel we stayed at the first night. I knew he would be there....
