Jung Bok-중복 The Hottest Day(One of 3)

It may sound a little strange, but one of the things I like about the new school I'm at is the bathroom. It is very clean and it's got one of those nostalgic smells. It reminds me of a European bathroom, in particular the way they smell in Holland. So I use it a lot. In this weather though, I'm always washing my hands and face to try and cool down a bit and having a nice clean bathroom is great! For those of you who live in Korea, you know that it's not very comfortable using one of those old, traditional style bathrooms!

Today hasn't been as hot as a few other days in the last week but it's a tradition on this day for everyone to eat HOT chicken soup (Sam-Gye-T'ang). I went with 4 of the girls I work with but I didn't have any of the chicken soup. I had Soondo-bu-chigae(Tofu soup) instead. I find that Sam-Gye-Tang is very difficult to eat and is very hot and messy. Korean people eat it because they say it gives them energy and that it's 'refreshing' to eat a hot dish on one of the hottest days of the summer.

Here are some pictures of the kids I taught up until last week.
