Her daughter was recently diagnosed with Autism. Although most of our family already sensed this, we found out for certain recently after she went through a series of tests. She's a very special girl and now that my Mom's over there, she'll get a lot more attention than usual. Here's one of my favorite pictures of her.

Getting back to the running. Last night I had a better than average run. I know it's not near world record pace, but I'm proud of myself for maintaining a good pace. Even though I'm getting older, I enjoy the challenge of always trying to better my speed and time. I have been averaging about 5.35 a km and last night I did a final km in 5.11, overall just over 32 minutes for 6 k. Like I said, it's not world record material and it may never be but I'm enjoying the addiction of it at the moment. Unfortunately the swimming and running race I wanted to enter was cancelled but I feel I am ready for it anyways. The swimming is going well too though I wish I had time to go a few more times a week. You have to use a different technique of breathing for swimming than running and if you happen to mistime a stroke you could swallow some water and then it totally throws you off. I've experienced that a couple of times lately, pushing myself to breath longer in the water between strokes. Nevertheless, it's a great time to be alive and healthy.
