An Nyong Haseyo-It's Hangul Day

Today, 564 years ago on October 9th, 1443, King Seh Jung created the Korean Language Hangul.

Since I have had so much free time, I have been studying a lot of Korean. I know I have improved since I came to the Seoul area, and for one main reason. When I lived in Ulsan, the people there spoke a different dialect than the standard Korean. Well, now I can put the stuff I am learning into daily use, a lot more than I could when I was living down south. Even though I've studied before and was even in a speech contest, now I have a target and that is to take the KLPT test at the end of this month. It's actually not too easy but the grammar and reading is getting a lot easier for me. I just finished reading the book "The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Nighttime" and I recommended it to my sister because it is about an autistic child and the ideas he has and the way his mind works. She said she already has the book so I said I already finished it and it was good and that she should try to read it too because then we could do comparing. I know she would enjoy it.

These are a few more pictures of Seoul from last Friday. I got a hopeful e-mail from my brother today, maybe planning a trip here which would be great but it's a little expensive and it might not be possible. I really hope he can anyways. Below is Kyle and he's been doing a lot of acting for a Korean Telivision show where foreigners do skits but most of them speak terrible English. Kyle's English is fine though which means he should be getting some more main parts instead of the guys who hardly speak English or with a heavy Eastern European accent. Anyways, he's got some good pictures and you can see them on the links to the right.

The last bit of good news is that I found an Apple store near where I live and I went there and looked at them. After a couple of days I will probably buy one but sometimes I will still come to the PC room because I like the atmosphere.
