My Predictions of Superstars

With so many new young players in the WorldCup and so many players yet to prove themselves in the world's most prestigous sports tournament in the world, here are some players to look out for.

First, a player who has come into his own after being overshadowed by his teammates Ronaldo and Rivaldo in 2002....Ronaldinho. Even though he played well and scored a great goal England would rather forget, this could be a great tournament for him. I don't think and don't want Brazil to win of course but they are always a hard team to beat.

Next, Lionel Messi from Argentina. A young player with tons of talent, he could be the spark which takes them to the 2nd round. We'll see what he does against Holland! That game could possibly be one of the best games in the 1st round by the way.

And for Holland, my bet is on Johnny Heitinga. He's a strong player, good in the air and has lots of heart playing for the Dutch team. I think of all the young players for Holland, he will stand out for them and score some key goals! He's Friesan too!

I know I have left out a lot of potential stars but this is just a start. I would like to see Wayne Rooney play for England but it might not be a good choice for them and he's so young too! He can play in a few more WorldCups when England need him more than they do now! They have a pretty good team this year anyways and Steven Gerrard can make up for Rooney in my opinion.

By the way, I see a new team in the making here in Bundang. A bunch of Canadians from Windsor, Ontario, myself and Paul too played a football game yesterday. It was a fun game and against some younger kids, but nevertheless a game which made me think of the Wonshots, the expat team made back in 2002! Then, we formed a football team of mostly English Teachers during that WorldCup. Gareth Copley, the current manager of the Ulsan team is coming up to visit Bundang and watch a few games with us. He's English and a Man City fan and he doesn't know it yet, but I'm giving him a Dutch shirt to wear for Sunday's game.

Oh yeah, the reason we played a game is because it was a National holiday here, Memorial Day in Korea, a day where everybody is supposed to remember the people who died in past wars and stuff.
